'Climate Disasters Can Happen Fast. Are You Ready?' with American Red Cross at Camden library
As part of the Camden Talks Climate series, Camden Public Library invites the public to a presentation by Sophie Piconi, executive director for the American Red Cross Northern New England Region/Midcoast and Central Maine, to learn more about how to prepare for disasters. The presentation will take place on Thursday, Dec. 11, at 6:30 p.m., at the Camden Public Library.
Piconi has been deployed around the U.S. to coordinate American Red Cross disaster responses, and she knows how differently communities can fare, according to the Library, in a news release. Since preparedness starts at home, she’ll share guidance on actions you can take to stay safe during an extended disaster, and what to have packed in case you need to evacuate.
There will be handouts available, and the session will be recorded as part of the “Camden Talks Climate” series.
This presentation is co-sponsored by CamdenCAN and supported by a state Community Resilience Partnership grant to the towns of Camden and Rockport.
This event takes place in person and will also be streamed on Zoom. To attend virtually, register using the link available in the event’s calendar listing on the Camden Public Library website.
