Cabin Fever Series to feature owners of Seascale Maine
Herring Gut Coastal Science Center presents its next Cabin Fever Series featuring Charles Walsh and Jon Steuber, owners of Seascale Maine. The program takes place December 4, from 6 - 7 p.m., at Herring Gut Coastal Science Center, 59 Factory Road, Port Clyde.
The Atlantic sea scallop (Placopecten magellanicus) is commercially fished and farmed in the state of Maine. The fishery was valued at over $8.7 million in 2022, with projected room for growth, according to Herring Gut, in a news release. Seascale has developed an innovative scallop pot that uses existing lobster gear tech to optimize scallop production.
