The Camden Opera House series of free concerts at the Camden Snow Bowl kicks off Sunday, Aug. 2, at 4 p.m., with Nashville based band The Resonauts.
The Resonauts are an acoustic quartet consisting of guitar, fiddle, mandolin, and bass. They play a mix of jazz, bluegrass and pop and always with an emphasis on joy and excitement, according to a news release. Their original works consist of progressive bluegrass-jazz instrumentals and songwriting.
"While no single identifying characteristic describes their sound best, their authentic and dynamic presence on stage is a joy to behold for lovers of any genre," said the news release. "If you love acoustic music, you’ll find something to love about The Resonauts."
Camden Opera House’s annual Camden Summer Sounds series of free outdoor concerts happens on the first four Sundays in August, at 4 p.m., at the Camden Snow Bowl, 22 Barnestown Road. This summer’s series is sponsored by Maine State Credit Union and Highland Events LLC.
Camden Summer Sounds attendees are encouraged to bring their own lawn seating and picnics. All dogs must be on leash.
Admission is free, though donations are welcome for the opera house’s Community Arts Fund.
In the event of wet weather, the concerts are held at the downtown Camden Opera House. Any rain location decisions will be made 5 p.m. the day before and posted on camdenoperahouse.com and in social media. FMI, go to www.camdenoperahouse.com or call 207-236-3154.
