Enough said with those few choice words that came across the high school Facebook feed in early evening, March 7, setting off a round of cheers throughout the community.
The Camden Hills Regional High School Girls and Boys swim teams had been competing all day in the pool at Colby College, in Waterville, where Maine was holding the annual Class B high school swim and diving championships Saturday. And Camden Hills Regional High School Girls Swim Team brought home the First Place trophy.
A jubilant parade of Appleton, Camden, Hope, Lincolnville and Rockport fire engines, a North East Mobile Health Services ambulance, family cars and the school bus carrying the swim teams made its way to Camden Hills Regional High School at 8 p.m. The fire departments and ambulance had met the school bus and parents in South Hope, escorting the teams back to the high school for the last leg of their day along routes 17 and 90.
The Girls Team secured their position as Class B State Champions, and the Boys Team likewise came home with a record of standout performances, while CHRHS Senior Rowan Stewart was named “Performer of the Meet.”
