Film Club at Rockland Public Library to meet March 9

"It’s like a book club but with movies," said RPL, in a news release.
Watch the selected film on your own and then join the group for a lively discussion each month. Plots, themes, characters, soundtracks, symbolism, cinematography, and more are all discussion options. From casual viewers to cinephiles, all levels of interest in film are welcome. Participants can request the selected film through interlibrary loan or find it on various streaming services.
This month's discussion is centered on the 2023 film Fremont.
Afghan refugee Donya is a former translator for the US government who lives in Fremont but works at a fortune cookie factory in San Francisco. Seeking connection, she decides to send a message out to the world one sentence at a time by recording her story on the fortunes.
