Linda Ann (Prescott) Willey, obituary
Linda Ann (Prescott) Willey, 64, died peacefully in her sleep on February 26, 2026, with her loving husband by her side. She fought a brief battle with an aggressive cancer. When it became clear her body could not take anymore, she gracefully accepted that it was her time and made sure everyone knew she loved them.
She was born January 19, 1962, to Clarence and Gail Prescott and spent her younger years in Winthrop, before moving to Rockland. She spent her adolescent years with friends on Philbrick Avenue. Even as an adult, she always talked about how much fun she had there, and how much she loved middle school and high school. She graduated from Rockland High School in 1979.
She fell in love with Lanny J. Willey Jr as a teen, and her love for him remained through her last breath. They got married on July 25, 1982, and spent several years enjoying life together before having their only child, Lanny J. Willey III. Their family of three shared endless good times together.
When her son was old enough to attend school, she began working for Warren schools, and continued to do so for many years. She always enjoyed running into former students and catching up with them.
She enjoyed spending summers camping with friends, trips to Old Orchard Beach, hitting up lawn sales, watching General Hospital, and doing anything and everything with the love of her life.
More than anything, she loved becoming “Nana” to her grandbabies, Lexi and Luke. She spent every minute she could with them and filled them with hundreds of memories. She adored them and would do anything in the world for them. Luke will miss having her on their camping trips and Lexi will miss thrift store trips and Dunkin runs. Her biggest regret in leaving this world was not being able to see them grow up and graduate. Her fun loving spirit will always be with them, and they’ll help take care of Papa and keep him on his toes.
She was an incredible homemaker and caretaker – always maintaining a clean home, cooking dinner, and taking care of her family. She was always there for anyone who needed anything, and always put her loved ones before herself.
Linda was predeceased by her parents, Gail Prescott and Clarence Prescott, and her little brother Adam.
She is survived by her husband, Lanny Willey Jr; son Lanny Willey III and his wife Alyssa; grandchildren, Lexi Willey and Luke Willey; brother Russell Prescott; stepmother, Jackie Prescott; in-laws, Lanny Willey Sr and his wife Rita; special best friend Robin; best friend Teresa; numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family members, and countless friends. It’s impossible to list all of the family members and friends that she’s leaving behind, as there are just so many people that love her.
Linda will be remembered for her beautiful smile, infectious laugh, and vibrant, friendly personality. As her husband says, she’s gone to that great big campground in the sky.
At this time, no services will be held. A celebration of her life with her camping buddies may be planned for sometime this summer.
