"A woodcock's sky dance is one of the most exciting signs of spring in Maine," said Georges River Land Trust, in a news release. "Just after dusk, these incredible, chunky birds perform a mating ritual you won't want to miss."

Join GRLT on Wednesday, March 25, at 6:30 p.m., at Trolley Marsh Preserve, in Warren, to watch, learn, and share in the excitement of the changing seasons.

Gail Presley, avid birder and board member of Midcoast Audubon, will provide interpretation about the American woodcock, why they dance, where they live, and what makes them so special.

Please wear waterproof boots and warm layers. A folding chair or something to keep you dry while sitting on the ground is recommended. Some tarps will be provided.

Directions: From Route 1 in Thomaston, travel north on Route 131 for 2.2 miles. There is a parking lot at 790 Oyster River Road (Route 131) in Warren.
