Opening reception for 'Horizon Lines' by artist Margaret Creighton

Wednesday, April 15, 2026 - 04:00 pm to 06:00 pmThe Craignair Gallery invites the public to the Opening Reception of an exhibition of fine art entitled “Horizon Lines” by Cushing artist Margaret Creighton on Wednesday, April 15, from 4 to 6 p.m.
After completing a career as a history professor at Bates College, Creighton, inspired by the atmospheric and poetic qualities of landscapes, returned to painting in oils and pastels. Her paintings have won awards in juried shows in Maine and California, and can be found in corporate and political offices, including the collection of Senator Angus King, according to the Gallery, in a news release. She has benefited from art residencies at Great Spruce Head Island and takes inspiration from the great regional painters of the mid twentieth century and the Canadian Group of Seven.
“Horizon Lines” will be on exhibition from April 15 through May 18, 2026.
