Camden Hills Girls Varsity Soccer Team scores 8-0 against Hampden, moves into semi-finals
Camden Hills Regional High School Varsity Girls Soccer Team secured a quarterfinal playoff win against the Hampden Academy Broncos at home Oct. 27. On Oct. 30, the action continues with another home game, this time, a semi-final contest against the Brewer Witches. Game start time, 3 p.m.
The Oct. 27 game kicked off with a goal from No. 5 Sophomore Captain Liv Domareki and shortly after was joined by Junior Captain No. 10, Molly Williams. The opening half ended with a lead of 2-0 for the home team.
The Jammers were just getting started, and brought up the intensity in the second half to net a shocking six more goals. Molly Williams ended with a hat trick, and Senior Captain No. 7, Thea Laukka, added two to the final tally. Junior Captain No. 13, Eve Domareki ,found the top corner, along with Sophomore No. 17, Elsa Schwalm, to end the game early following the mercy rule.
The final whistle blew to assure an aggressive 8-0 playoff win for the Jammers. The Windjammers have had an astounding season thus far, and will continue on in the playoff bracket following this win. The attacking for Camden Hills was strong, but the defensive line was just as vital to the win; making block tackles, and clearing the box of potential shots denied the Broncos a chance at goal.
The Jammers Oct. 30 game against the Brewer Witches at Camden Hills Regional High School will be a semi-final game, and the winning team will head to the Northern Class-A Finals on Nov. 3.
Head out to support the home team sporting red and white colors.
Liv Domareki is a student at Camden Hills Regional High School
