Wed, 05/05/2021 - 5:15pm

On Tuesday, May 11, tickets for Bay Chamber Concerts’ 60th Summer Concert Season will be for sale online at baychamber.org.

The season is comprised of two opening weeks of virtual programming featuring renowned violinist of St. Lawrence String Quartet and Bay Chamber regular, Geoff Nuttall. Nuttall will be joined on Wednesday, August 4 by members of the Bay Chamber Music School Faculty for a concert livestreamed on their YouTube channel.

On Thursday, August 12, Nuttall will be joined by a quartet of guest string musicians, for two concerts: A Little Light Music, a hybrid offering that combines a small live audience with livestreaming on YouTube.

The following night, August 13, Bay Chamber brings back one of its most popular offerings, Candlelit Baroque, presented at the First Congregational Church in Camden.

Several free concerts for the community will be offered during the month of August and highlights include Jazz on the Water, on Sunday, August 15: two free concerts on the Camden Village Green and a children’s concert featuring Palaver Strings.

Beginning August 18 and running through the August 22, Bay Chamber commences its 5-day Screen Door Festival – themed a story of tenderness, a dynamic series of 20 concerts designed to challenge, intrigue, inspire and excite. Presented in partnership with the Camden Public Library, the festival will take place under a tent at the historic Amphitheater. Inspired by a year of reflection and resilience the selection of performances pays homage to tradition even as they embrace innovation, celebrating the joy of music-making with more than 40 artists including The Rolston String Quartet, Andrew Wolf Award Winner, Orion Weiss, The Westerlies and many more.

“This season promises to be one of the most sensational yet!” said Bay Chambers, in a news release. Visit www.baychamber.org for more information on their summer plans, including COVID-19 safety regulations, and stay tuned for the full announcement Tuesday, May 11.
