An Artists Reception for "Seasoned on Monhegan" will be held Saturday, Aug. 15, from 3 - 7 p.m., at Salt Pond Studio, with live performance at 5 p.m. by Gary Aronsen, of the 77 Apes. 

"Seasoned on Monhegan" is an exhibition of paintings by Alison Hill and Emily Morse.

"These two terrific artists have weathered the seasons for over 35 years on the island we know as Monhegan, Summer, Fall, Winter and Spring these brave ladies have painted their way through the seasons on island," said Salt Pond Studio, in a news release. "Alison Hill is well known on and off island for her paintings recording the sights and people of this infamous and remote island community. Emily Morse, a classically trained artist, brings us the land and sea, as well as still life paintings drawn from her years of island life."

Salt Pond Studio is located at 522 Cushing Road in Friendship Maine. Housed in the renovated East Friendship School House, circa 1850, Salt Pond Studio celebrates local Mid-Coast artists. The gallery is known for its signature Artist Receptions complemented with a fired-up grill under the tent as well as conversation around the firepit and often live music to complete the evening.
