TENANTS HARBOR — "Local mystery fans and aspiring writers have a special opportunity to meet a master of suspense next week," said Jackson Memorial Library, in a news release. JML will host internationally best-selling author Tess Gerritsen for an evening talk on Thursday, Aug. 13, from 5 to 7 p.m. The event will take place at the St. George Town Office in Tenants Harbor.

Gerritsen will pull back the curtain on her creative process, sharing how she transforms spark-of-an-idea concepts into gripping, page-turning thrillers.

Gerritsen is world-renowned as the "medical suspense queen," a title backed by major literary accolades. She won the Nero Wolfe Award for Vanish and the Rita Award for The Surgeon. Critics worldwide praise her work, with the Toronto Globe and Mail calling her writing “scary and brilliant,” and Time Magazine naming The Surgeon one of the best mystery/thriller novels of all time.

Beyond the bestseller lists, Gerritsen's work has made a massive impact on pop culture, according to the Library. Her iconic book series featuring homicide detective Jane Rizzoli and medical examiner Maura Isles inspired the hit TNT television series Rizzoli & Isles, starring Angie Harmon and Sasha Alexander.
