3rd. Annual Tomato Tasting

Event Date

Saturday, September 12, 2026 - 12:00 pm to 03:00 pm

The Tomato Tasting will return for an exciting encore at Merryspring on Saturday, September 12, from noon to 3 pm. This year’s event is generously sponsored by Barnswallow Books and is free for attendees, but you must register in advance by calling 207-236-2239 or sending an email to info@merryspring.org.

The format for this year’s tasting will be much like last year’s, which drew about 50 participants. We will start with expert speakers who will focus on growing tomatoes, different seed-saving techniques, and which varieties to select for your garden. That will be followed by the Tomato Tasting itself. We will limit the varieties to 30 kinds of tomatoes, but many of them will be new to attendees.

Participants can use the tasting sheet to make notes about each variety. If you are saving seeds, you can use the cups to take the seeds home to process for planting next year.

Merryspring is your community nature center offering walking trails, cultivated gardens, wildlife, and ecology and horticulture educational programs all year round. The park is located at the end of Conway Road, just off of Route 1 in Camden behind Hannaford Shopping Plaza. For more information on this program, please contact info@merryspring.org or call 207-236-2239.
