Lincolnville Historical Society will be featuring artist Chris Polson at an artist's open house, Sunday, July 12, from 1 to 4 p.m. Maine’s blueberry fields, forests, and waters will be the focus of the exhibition of paintings by Polson.
“I really enjoy painting out of doors to get the best chance for seeing colors as they are at any given moment while the sun moves across the sky,“ said Polson, in a LHS news release. “Lincolnville, where I live, is well represented in this showing of my work.”
There have been numerous exhibitions of Polson‘s work throughout the state over the past 34 years, including a program at the Lincolnville Community Library where he discussed his experiences painting at Baxter State Park and other Northern Maine locations. He was one of the artists who contributed artwork to help raise funds for the purchase and subsequent donation of Katahdin Lake to Baxter State Park, according to LHS.
The LHS is located at 33 Beach Road in Lincolnville.
