Thorndike motorcyclist transported by Life Flight following June 30 crash
MONTVILLE — A Thorndike man was transported to Northern Lights Eastern Maine Medical Center by Life Flight following a June 1, motorcycle accident, according to a media report from Waldo County Sheriff's Sergeant Cody Laite.
The crash reportedly occurred at approximately 5:20 p.m., on North Mountain Valley Highway in Montville, with members of the Waldo County Sheriff's Office, Liberty Ambulance, other local fire departments, and EMS staff responding to the scene.
According to the report, initial investigation revealed the crash involved a 1955 Harley Davidson motorcycle, which was being operated by 39-year-old Joshua Ard, a well known local Belfast tattoo artist.
Ard was reportedly traveling north when the crash occurred. Circumstances surrounding the crash, including contributing factors, remain under investigation.
No criminal behavior is suspected.
