(Photo courtesy Rockland Public Library)On Thursday, July 9, at 6 p.m., in the Community Room of the Rockland Public Library, UMaine librarian John Hutchinson present an entertaining presentation about Milton Bradley, "the pioneering game maker who pioneered fun and educational games and later became a champion of the Kindergarten movement," said a Library news release. "He was also a master lithographer and creative entrepreneur."
This talk explores his remarkable life and legacy, with plenty of visuals—including a reproduction of his first hit board game, an early edition set of his popular Author Cards, and even a working zoetrope.
"Whether you’re a fan of board games, history, or inventors, you’ll leave with a new appreciation for the man behind the Milton Bradley Company," said the news release.
The Rockland Public Library is located at 80 Union Street.
This event is free and open to the public.
