Hannah Howland to lead native perennials presentation at Merryspring

Tuesday, August 25, 2026 - 12:00 pmHannah Howland, perennial manager at Plants Unlimited, will lead an outdoor presentation on "Native Perennials" at Merryspring Nature Center on Tuesday, Aug. 25, at 12 p.m.
Howland will bring examples of native perennials, discuss how to grow and use them in different garden settings, and how to care for them. A walk through the Merryspring gardens to discuss additional plants will follow. The plants Howland brings will be for sale with a portion of the proceeds donated to Merryspring.
Howland is a third-generation horticulturist. She inherited her passion for plants from her father and grandfather while growing up in their family-owned garden center in western Massachusetts, according to a Merryspring news release. She has a bachelor’s degree in Environmental Horticulture from the University of Maine, and loves putting her skills to work guiding clients to find the right plants for their projects. She is especially passionate about finding new and modern ways to incorporate our Maine natives into designed landscapes.
This in-person talk is part of the Summer Talk Series sponsored by Camden Riverhouse Hotel.
Attendance is free for members; $10 for non-members.
