Approximately 50 singers and instrumentalists will perform in a free concert, Aug. 21, from 7:30 - 9 p.m., at the Camden Congregational Church. All performers, many of them professionals, are volunteering their time as a gift to the wider community, according to organizer Ru Monsell.

 

"Celebrate in Song is a program of entirely uplifting American music on the theme of our country's ideals," said Monsell, in a news release. "The music ranges from old classics including the National Anthem and America the Beautiful, to folk music classics, to pieces written as recently as this year."

 

Participations will include a 40-voice chorus, an audience sing-a-long, handbells, piano, organ, guitar, and drums will also 

 

Admission is free, and there will be a free will offering to benefit an area nonprofit Homeworthy, which helps with food and housing.
