Tree lights shine bright at 2025 Festival of Lights Parade
ROCKLAND — The Festival of Lights Parade wound its way up Rockland's Downtown Main Street, Saturday evening, Nov. 29, 2025, as temperatures hovered around 30 degrees.
Beginning at 6 p.m., a police cruiser and a fire truck led participants from the Ferry Terminal to the Public Landing. The finale float featuring Santa Clause passed by Puffin's Nest and Cape Air office at approximately 6:30 p.m. By 7 p.m., traffic barriers had been removed and the extra police officers on duty for the event retired for the evening.
Prior to the start of the main attraction, a group of carolers entertained the waiting crowd while spectators partook in fundraiser hot drinks and cookies. Throughout the parade, music energized the crowd, with several free spirits enticed to dance along.
The one Grinch who made an appearance this year engaged the crowd while walking the sidelines. He managed to elude this photographer.
Dominating the show, Christmas tree lights complemented the starry night with extra illumination.
