11th Annual Girls Youth Mentoring Day at Messalonskee High School

(Photo courtesy ShineOnCass Foundation)Messalonskee High School Girls Soccer and the ShineOnCass Foundation will host its 11th annual girls youth mentoring day “ShineOn Saturday” Sept. 26, from 12 to 2 p.m., at Messalonskee High School in Oakland. The event is held to honor former Messalonskee soccer player and youth mentor Cassidy Charette, who died in a hayride accident Oct. 11, 2014.
Area girls, ages Pre-Kindergarten to 5th grade, are invited to attend this free event. Soccer skills are not required, according to the Foundation, in a news release. In addition to participating in skill building and fun field games, attendees will receive a snack, an autographed team poster and a ShineOnCass wristband that gives them a special treat when they wear it at any Lady Eagles home game.
