Penobscot Bay YMCA Welcomes All Adult Swimmers to the Kate Killoran Memorial Meet

Wed, 02/11/2026 - 1:28pm

Rockport, Maine — After more than a decade without hosting a Masters swim meet, the Penobscot Bay YMCA is excited to bring adult swimmers back to the blocks with the  Kate Killoran Memorial Masters Meet on Sunday, February 15, 2026, at the Penobscot Bay YMCA in Rockport.

This US Masters Swimming–recognized Short Course Yards (SCY) meet is open to swimmers 18 and older, and you do not need to be a registered Masters swimmer to participate. Whether you train regularly, swim for fitness, or simply miss the thrill of racing, this meet is designed to be welcoming, inclusive, and fun for swimmers of all experience levels.

The meet honors the memory of Kate Killoran, whose passion for swimming and commitment to our community left a lasting impact on the Penobscot Bay YMCA aquatics family. Organizers hope this event will become an annual tradition that brings swimmers together from across the region.

Warm-ups will begin at 8:30 AM, with the therapy pool available as a dedicated warm-up pool throughout the meet. Additional adjacent warm-up lanes will be available as space allows.

“This meet is about coming together,” said Jodi Maltese, Aquatics Director. “It’s about racing if you want to race, trying something new if you haven’t competed in a while, and reconnecting with the joy of swimming.”

The Penobscot Bay YMCA is located at 116 Union Street, Rockport, Maine. For meet details and registration information, visit  penbayymca.org or call 207-236-3375.
