Meeting tonight

Thomaston to hold information session this evening on proposed North Road Study

Thu, 10/21/2021 - 8:30am

The Town of Thomaston will hold a Public Information Session on Thursday, October 21, at 6 p.m. at the Thomaston Municipal Building, 13 Valley Street. The session is to include a historical background from members of the Comprehensive Plan Committee and a presentation of the North Road Study from Dirigo Engineering, according to a new release from the town.

The meeting will not be live-streamed because the location was moved to a larger room to hold more people, said Town Manager Kara George.

“All of our TownHall streams equipment is in our much smaller Select Board room,” she said.

A public comment portion of the meeting is to follow the presentations and will be led by a moderator.

On June 28, the Select Board approved the expenditure for a feasibility study of a North Road development through Dirigo Engineering. Additionally, voters approved the 2020 Comprehensive Plan on September 15, 2020, which included recommendations to conduct a comprehensive study to assess the advantages, disadvantages, and logistics of a new east/ west street to connect the west end of town to Old County Road.

If you are unable to attend the public meeting, forward your questions, comments, and concerns to the Town Manager at kgeorge@thomastonmaine.gov by the close of business on Wednesday, October 20. Comments will be shared at the Public Information Session.
