-Broad Bay Congregational United Church of Christ will host a free community meal from 1-3 p.m. All are welcome. This is a classic potluck-type meal with sandwiches, crockpot meals, salads, desserts, and drinks. It is also a chance to sample food from Day Boat Café.
-Outside the church, Pleasant Street will be closed for a family-friendly block party. The committee keeps things simple, according to Waldoboro Pride, in a news release. There will be a bounce house, gem hunt, a bubble station, and crafts for all ages.
-No Spring Chickens will share their music, followed by line dancing, and open mic opportunity, and then a bit more music from the musical duo. There will be activity and resource tables including Healthy Lincoln County and Sweetser's Support ME Peer Center.
-Everyone receives a free raffle ticket at the welcome table, and can purchase more at $1 each, 6 for $5. Prizes will be awarded at 2:45 with the first winner choosing their prize, the second choosing next, and so on until all raffle prizes are claimed.
This year's raffles include a Pride-themed crochet throw to wrap yourself in comfort, made by Bethany Hull. There will be two pet baskets supplied by The Animal House in Damariscotta. Another raffle basket will be a curated cheese basket with a church and a selection of Lakin's Gorges Cheese. For the kids, there is a raffle basket with kites, a rainbow plushie, and some other summer items.
-Continuing the accessible activities, The Waldo Theatre will host the Maine Gay Men's Chorus across the street at 3 p.m. Experience a celebration of everything WE ARE... This event is pay what you can.
-Next door, from 4-10 p.m., Ida’s Wine Bar at The Waldoboro Inn will host the third edition of their annual Tea Dance. The event is free to attend and open to all ages. Non-alcoholic drinks (yes, including tea!) will be served. Alcoholic drinks will be available for purchase at the bar with a portion of proceeds going to Maine Trans Net.
-The dance features three different DJs. This year, organizer Anomali brings back Ben Spalding, "Portland's cherished and unstoppable DJ who's been working the decks from all the best parties in Maine on to NYC and Japan with his high-vibes mix of house, techno, disco, electro and more," said the news release. "Ben's deep love of music, talent as a selector, and experience in the international queer dance world bring a bright shine to his mixes that will make everyone glow."
-Ida's welcomes Dai De Mai, spinning in the Midcoast for the very first time. "The decisively multi-genre DJ, party thrower, and producer has been making Portland dance floors bounce with their bold, contagious energy at nights like Motion Blur, The Freakquinox, and Gush," said the news release. "Whatever direction his club sounds go, get ready to sweat."
-"Hometown DJ and Tea Dance host Anomali will close the evening out with a lush rinse of techno and left-field sounds aimed at aural euphoria."
"Come to town and enjoy a day full activities or enjoy just a bit," said Waldoboro Pride. "Either way, everyone is welcome at Waldoboro Pride."
