UNION — The MaineDOT will be closing the section of Common Road between Sunk Haze Road and Limestone Place that contains the Bessey Bridge, which crosses the St. George River.

Bridge work is expected to begin the week of September 8 (weather permitting). Traffic will be detoured for roughly three weeks. Traffic might be restricted to one lane prior to September 8 for project layout, according to Maine DOT.
