Sugar Snaps perform Arts on the Hill concert, Aug. 21
Coastal Mountains Land Trust’s Arts on the Hill program brings the Sugar Snaps band to Beech Hill Preserve on Thursday, Aug. 21, at 6 p.m., as part of this summer concert series.
The Sugar Snaps are a high-energy 8-piece R&B band from Midcoast Maine.
"Featuring powerhouse vocals and a classic horn section, the Snaps bring to life the rich back catalog of lesser-known funk and soul tunes sprinkled with occasional popular hits by artists like Maceo Parker, Sharon Jones, Stevie Wonder, Ann Peebles, Al Green, and the Meters," said CMLT, in a news release. "The band features the powerful pipes of Ms. Emma Theobalds; the nasty brass of Julian Stearns (trumpet), Steve Orlofsky (saxophone) and Adam Tangarone (trombone); the slick stylings of guitarist Will Field; the funky fingers of keyboardist Mo Lotman; the pulsing palpitations of bassist Adam Nordell; and the syncopated skins of drummer Willy Crichton."
Plan to bring a picnic, relax and enjoy the view.
All Arts on the Hill performances are free and open to all ages but please leave your dogs at home.
Arts on the Hill is made by possible and presented by Camden National Bank, Cold Mountain Builders, Bangor Savings Bank, Camden Coast Real Estate, and Dirt Play.
