Trio of local girls compete in girls state wrestling championships
WELLS — A trio of local athletes competed Tuesday, Feb. 21 in the girls state wrestling championships with two of the three placing at the title event.
107 pounds: Maddie Ripley (Oceanside) pinned Savannah Thyna (Massabesic) and defeated Brookyln Webber (Mt. Blue). Ripley placed first.
114 pounds: Aaliya Ten Broeck (Camden Hills) pinned by Paige Stephenson (Massabesic) and pinned by Julia Allen (Wells).
120 pounds: Mariah Young (Medomak Valley) pinned by Grace Allen (Mt. Blue) and pinned by Gabi Turner (Lisbon/Oak Hill). Young placed fourth.
