The Tiny Bookshop will celebrate Independent Bookstore Day on Saturday, April 25, with a day of books, prizes, and festivities from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., at 163 Union Street, in Rockport.

The Tiny Bookshop is one of over 1,600 stores across the country participating in this year’s Independent Bookstore Day (IBD) “national party” to highlight the value of indie bookstores in our communities, according to the Bookshop, in a news release.

"Make a plan with friends to visit the bookstore and join the celebration, which also coincides with the store’s spring reopening (April 17) and one-year anniversary," said the Bookshop.

Event highlights at The Tiny Bookshop include a hunt for the hidden Golden Ticket redeemable for twelve free audiobooks from Libro.fm, a “book wheel of fun” for prizes, and a raffle for a chance to win a tote bag filled with goodies. The shop will offer a selection of limited-quantity exclusive IBD titles and signed editions available first come, first served at the event. There will be snacks and additional giveaways all day such as bookmarks and coloring pages for kids.

“It’s a day to celebrate books, readers, and the role independent bookstores play in our community," said Kelly Hokkanen, owner of The Tiny Bookshop. "We’re especially excited to welcome customers back as we reopen for the season.”

Independent Bookstore Day is organized by the American Booksellers Association, a national not-for-profit trade organization, that works with booksellers and industry partners to ensure the success and profitability of independently owned book retailers, and to assist in expanding the community of the book.
