Rockport Public Library 2025 Summer Reading for children: 'Be silly. Be honest. Be Kind.'
Rockport Public Library invites young patrons to participate in the annual Summer Reading program. This year’s theme is inspired by a quote attributed to Ralph Waldo Emerson, “Be silly. Be honest. Be Kind.”
Activities will include an opportunity to get creative in the kitchen with guest chef Carol Pock (July 15); Yoga with Lynn Rutter (July 22); crafting toys for local shelter dogs (August 5); and lots of teamwork.
Through the generosity of the Rockport Library Foundation, a music-filled laser light show at the Camden-Rockport Middle School (July 18), and a presentation by New York Times bestselling author Peter Brown, of the Wild Robot series, will also be featured in this summer program (July 29). There will be reading challenges with fun prizes.
A kickoff party will be held on July 15, at 1 p.m. where students can pick up their summer reading challenge activity sheets and important event information.
Space is limited for most of the programs. Please call the library at 207-236-3642 to register. Additional details about these events and other offerings from the Rockport Library can be found at rockportlibrary.net
