Once an Outlaw, featuring Chris Anderson, returns to Camden Opera House
Once an Outlaw, featuring Chris Anderson of the Outlaws, returns to the Camden Opera House, 29 Elm St., Saturday, Nov. 1. Doors will open at 7 p.m. Attendees will be treated to hits from the Outlaws, Marshall Tucker, and Allman Brothers in a stripped-down, intimate, acoustic format.
Anderson, widely known as the last real Outlaw, spent nearly 20 years with Southern Rock legends the Outlaws, but his resume does not stop there. His 1995 album “Old Friend” made it onto Rolling Stone’s Top 10, its title track co-written with Allman Brothers guitarist Warren Haynes.
Anderson has worked with Steven Stills and Bad Company; and he toured with Lucinda Williams. In a 1997 interview, Dickey Betts, of the Allman Brothers, was asked about his favorite living guitarist. His answer? Chris Anderson.
Once an Outlaw formed in 2019; along the way performers have included Chris Hicks and BB Borden of the Marshall Tucker Band; the late Jeff Howell of Foghat/Outlaws/Savoy Brown; Harvey Dalton Arnold (Outlaws); David Goldflies (Allman Brothers); and Mike Kach (Dickey Betts Band/Molly Hachet). Guitar slinger Chuck Farrell, who played with James Montgomery at the opera house in September, also is in Once an Outlaw.
Tickets are $30 in advance, $35 day-of-show, via camdenoperahouse.com and (207) 236-3154.
