Monday, November 3 is Election Heroes Day
Monday, November 3 is Election Hero Day, a nonpartisan civic holiday that celebrates the contributions of election officials, their staffs and poll workers who administer our elections all across the country.
“In Maine, elections are conducted at the municipal level, and we are so fortunate to have such dedicated Election Heroes across the state,” said Secretary of State Shenna Bellows. “We all know and trust our local municipal clerk and staff and for good reason. They go above and beyond for all of us all year long, but never more so than during a busy election season.”
In recognition of Election Hero Day, Secretary Bellows and members of her staff will travel to multiple towns on Monday to thank municipal clerks and election workers in person as they prepare for Election Day on Tuesday.
“I hope everyone as they are casting their votes on Tuesday can spare a moment to take a look around their polling place and notice all of the individuals behind the scenes who make it happen,” said Secretary Bellows. “Those friends and neighbors are working tirelessly to make sure Maine’s elections are free, safe and secure, and they deserve a heartfelt thank you for their dedication and the role they play in preserving our democracy.”
