SEARSPORT — The high school cross country season opened Friday, Sept. 25 in Waldo County for the Searsport Vikings, who hosted runners from Mount Desert Island and Deer Isle-Stonington. 

In the girls division, Searsport finished second with a total time of 2:20:26.80, behind Mount Desert Island who placed first with a time of 1:57:44.59. No Deer Isle-Stonington runners competed in this division. 

In the boys division, Searsport finished second with at total time of 1:56:14.03, behind Mount Desert Island who placed first with a time of 1:33:55.92. Deer Isle-Stonington did not score as a team.
