MaineHealth Pen Bay Hospital to hold free skin cancer screening, Oct. 24
ROCKPORT — MaineHealth Pen Bay Hospital will be hosting a free skin cancer screening on Friday, Oct. 24, from 1:15 to 3:30 p.m., at Suite 202 of the Beebe Health Center, 15 Anchor Drive, in Rockport.
"Skin cancer is the most commonly diagnosed cancer in the United States," said MaineHealth. "When detected early, most skin cancers are curable. Patients and community members who are worried about spots or lesions on their skin are encouraged to get checked."
Participants can receive either a spot check or a more thorough screening for skin cancer.
The free screenings are being offered in partnership with the American Academy of Dermatology and Maine Cancer Foundation and will be offered on a first-come, first-served basis. No insurance or pre-registration is required.
