MaineDOT conducts intersection work in Portland
PORTLAND — Starting on March 30, the Maine Department of Transportation (MaineDOT) will begin intersection work in Portland for a pavement preservation project involving pedestrian safety improvements. This project begins at the intersection of Woodford Street and Bridgton Avenue, and ends at the intersection of Deering Avenue and Park Avenue.
"This project is necessary to maintain the structure of the roadway and to improve the pedestrian safety by updating sidewalk ramps to ADA compliance," said MaineDOT, in a news release.
There will be one-way alternating traffic on Woodford Street and Deering Avenue for the project duration. Driver should expect longer commute times, according to MaineDOT.
Work is expected to be completed by July 2026.
The contractor is Shaw Brothers of Gorham, Maine. The contract amount is $2,718,344.50.
