Maine State Police Troop D beat
AUGUSTA — Maine State Police Troop D reported the following activity, Feb. 4-10. Below are some of the highlights, as reported by the agency. An arrest or summons does not imply guilt.
Feb. 3
Trooper Bethany Robinson and Recruit Thomas Bureau located a vehicle that had gone off the road on Route 1A in Winterport. Christopher Reynolds, 21, failed to report the crash and was summonsed for that, as well as operating without a license.
Trooper Elisha Fowlie and Recruit Desiree Wuthenow pulled over a vehicle on Main Avenue in Farmingdale for an invalid inspection sticker. Matthew Nadeau, 21, was found to be operating with a suspended license and also had a warrant for his arrest. Nadeau was taken to Kennebec County Jail.
Feb. 4
Trooper Corey Smith charged Zachary Barnett, 26, of Winterport, with criminal mischief after investigating a report of damage to a vehicle on Stream Road in Winterport.
Trooper Christopher Rogers stopped Theodore Bryant, 58, on I-295 in Richmond for an expired inspection sticker. Bryant's license was under suspension and he was summonsed for the offense.
Troopers Donald Webber and Corey Smith summonsed Joshua Perry, 30, of Prospect, for violating conditions of release.
Troopers Webber and Smith summonsed Brad Swift, 21, of Stockton Springs, for violating conditions of release.
Feb. 5
Trooper Webber summonsed Jason Simmons, 35, of China, for operating after suspension (non-criminal).
Trooper Stephen Morrell stopped Jeffery Witham, 18, for an inspection violation. He was charged with operating after suspension and operating beyond license restriction.
Trooper Morrell received a complaint that a large piece of construction equipment owned by L.E. Myers had been vandalized in Winterport. The case is under investigation.
Feb. 6
Trooper Morrell stopped Allen Randall, 50, of Winterport for an inspection violation. Allen was charged with operating after suspension and operating an unregistered motor vehicle greater than 150 days.
Trooper Mark Ferreira stopped a vehicle for displaying an expired inspection sticker on Route 1 in West Bath. The passenger, Jesse Bogle, 29, of Gardiner, had an outstanding warrant for his arrest and was also in possession of a marijuana pipe. Bogle was arrested and also charged with sale and use of drug paraphernalia.
Trooper Evan Teel assisted state Department of Health and Human Services staff with the removal of a 1-month-old child from a residence in Swanville.
Recruit Seth Allen and Trooper Kyle Pelletier investigated a burglary in Litchfield, where many tools were reportedly taken. The investigation continues.
Trooper Shawn Porter stopped Casey Rairdon, 23, on Swan Lake Avenue in Swanville for having oversized tires. Rairdon was summonsed for operating a defective motor vehicle but was allowed to operate the vehicle to his residence.
Trooper Porter stopped Joel Wentworth, 41, on Route 3 in Liberty for having oversized tires. Wentworth was summonsed for operating a defective motor vehicle but was allowed to operate the vehicle to his residence.
Feb. 7
Trooper Porter stopped Stephen Clements, 43, on Swan Lake Avenue in Monroe for speed. Clements' vehicle registration was also expired. Clements was given a warning for speeding and a summons for operating an unregistered motor vehicle greater than 150 days.
Trooper Porter pulled over Jason Skillings, 25, for not wearing his seat belt on Swan Lake Avenue in Swanville. Skillings was summonsed for operating after suspension or revoked as well as the seat belt violation.
Trooper Porter stopped Aaron Seekins, 22, on Route 3 in Belfast for having oversized tires. Seekins was summonsed for operating a defective motor vehicle but was allowed to operate the vehicle to his residence.
Trooper Teel stopped Amanda Lynn Pomeroy, 25, of Winterport, for operating without her headlights on at night. Pomeroy was also driving without out a license and was ultimately summonsed for the offense.
Trooper Ferreira stopped Lindrith Davies, 55, of Jackson, on I-295 southbound in Gardiner for an expired registration. Lindrith was issued a summons for operating a motor vehicle unregistered greater than 150 days.
Trooper Scott Quintero and Recruit Bureau stopped a vehicle for a traffic violation on Route 139 in Winterport. Everett Holbrook, 37, was found to be in possession of a pot pipe and drug paraphernalia and was summonsed for both civil violations. Jeffrey Dolloff, 47, was also summonsed for operator consuming alcohol in a motor vehicle on a public way.
Trooper Rogers stopped Kelly Inman, 42, on Maine Avenue in Farmingdale after observing her and her passenger not wearing their seat belts. It was learned that Inman's license was under suspension and she was summonsed for the offenses.
Feb. 8
Trooper Robert Cejka stopped an ATV operating on Route 1 in Brunswick during the recent snow storm. Thomas E. Poseno, 49, was summonsed for operating an ATV on a public way.
Trooper Cejka covered a crash on Huntington Hill Road in Litchfield. The operator, Robin D. Cook, 46, had a suspended Maine license and he was summonsed for the offense.
Trooper Quintero and Recruit Wuthenow investigated a suspicious vehicle parked facing opposing traffic on River Road in South Gardiner. Derik Wight, 32, of South Gardiner was ultimately arrested for operating under the influence of alcohol. Once arrested, Wight offered $5,000 cash to the Troopers if they would let him go. Wight was charged with operating under the influence and bribery in public matters.
Trooper Leonard arrested Logan Gardner, 18, for violating a protection order.
Feb. 9
Trooper Quintero encountered Mackenzie Murray, 23, of Waldoboro and learned that his license was suspended. Murray was summonsed for operating after suspension
Feb. 10
Trooper Ferreira stopped Benjamin Arnold, 34, of Woolwich on Route 9 in Augusta for an expired registration. Benjamin was summonsed for operating an unregistered motor vehicle greater than 150 days.
