The Good Tern Gallery at Hole In The Wall Bagels, in Rockland, is featuring the artwork of Paul Chacon, a photographer based in the Midcoast since 1994 with roots in Ecuador. Chacon’s atmospheric photographs reveal the rugged beauty and quiet grace of Maine’s coast. The show is on view and open to the public until September 25, at Hole In The Wall Bagels during opening hours.

“My work explores the intimate side of landscapes: fog rolling through birch groves, dewdrops catching golden light, the quiet solitude of a heron in morning mist," writes Chacon, in a Good Tern news release. "Whether photographing Maine’s moody shores or Ecuador’s high country, I’m searching for moments that invite you to pause and feel rather than simply see.”

Chacon's work was included in the 2022 Cuenca Biennial: a biannual art exhibit, featuring artists from all over South America. He was the first photographer to ever be featured in this prestigious event, according to the news release. Chacon lives in Warren with his wife, Sara. For more information visit his website.

While the show explores Paul’s Maine photographic journey, it includes one piece from his hometown in Ecuador, "giving viewers perhaps the first gallery experience of looking down streets of a town in Ecuador and Camden, Maine, framed side by side,” said Good Tern Gallery curator Fern Axelson.

Hole In The Wall Bagels is open Wednesday-Sunday, from 7 a.m. to 1 p.m.
