Rockport Public Library invites young patrons to participate in the annual Summer Reading program. This year’s theme is inspired by a line from William Shakespeare’s play As You Like It, “All the world’s a stage.”
Activities will include an opportunity to explore characters and stories with theater professionals from the Camden Shakespeare Festival (Jul. 14); learn individuality through movement with yoga instructor, Lynn Rutter (Jul. 21); create in an interactive art workshop with guest artist/author Stephen Costanza (Jul. 28); design and construct theater masks (Aug.4); and celebrate the end of summer with prizes awarded to those who participated in the Summer Reading Challenge (Aug.11).
A kickoff party will be held on July 14, at 1p.m., where Summer Reading challenge activity sheets will be available, and students can learn more about related events.
Space is limited for these programs. Please call the library at 207-236-3642 to register.
Additional details about these events and other offerings from the Rockport Library can be found at rockportlibrary.net.
