Local gardeners sought to 'dig and donate' for annual Plant and Bake Sale
The Friends of Rockland Public Library (FRPL) is seeking local gardeners to “dig and donate” for its annual Plant and Bake Sale. They need area gardeners to dig a few perennials to sell at the June 13 event that takes place on the library lawn.
"April and May are the best times of the year to divide many types of flowering perennials to keep the plants healthy," said a FRPL news release. "Donate a few of your divisions to the June Plant Sale."
The Friends have volunteers who will help you divide your plants or, if you prefer to do it yourself, they will pick up your donations from your garden, according to FRPL. They are also accepting donations of plant pots (preferably 6 inches or larger), as well as used garden items for a tag sale.
Additionally, they have many volunteer opportunities coming up. Let them know if you are interested in being on call to help dig, repot or water plants, or assist setting up for the Plant Sale.
The Friends of Rockland Library provides financial assistance to the library throughout the year, everything from new computers to new books. The June Plant sale is one of their primary fundraising events.
"Help them make this the best Plant Sale ever," said the news release.
