Lincolnville elects Lauren Beveridge, Kristi Hardy-Gilson to school board, approves changes to Commercial Site Plan Review Ordinance
Lincolnville began its annual town meeting June 9 at the polls, 8 a.m. to 8 p.m., at the Lincolnville Central School, to act on warrant articles 1-4. Then, on Thursday, June 11, citizens will gather at the Lincolnville Central School at 6 p.m. to act upon the remaining warant articles.
The municipal ballot included two candidates — Clifford Cameron and Matthew Maguire — who ran unopposed for two open Select Board seats. Four candidates ran for two open seats on the Lincolnville Central School Committee, with voters electing Lauren Beveridge (556 votes) and Kristi Hardy-Gilson (379 votes)
At the polls, voters approved, 694 to 276, the $5,276,476 Lincolnville school budget, up 8.5 percent from the 2025-2026 $4,910,340.
And, they approved the $19,200,174 Five Town CSD (Camden Hills Regional High School) budget, 730 to 289. Lincolnville's share of that budget is $2,293,852.15.
Voters also approved a land use amendment. Article 4: YES: 679 NO: 207
Article 4 asked: Shall an ordinance entitled “2026 Amendments to the Town of Lincolnville Land Use Ordinance to Update Commercial Site Plan Review Provisions” be enacted?
The Commercial Site Plan Review Ordinance changes have roots in the 2023 proposal to build a retail store at Drake Corner and the subsequent townwide approval of a moratorium on non-residential developments while the town crafted rules governing such developments. The ordinance is to provide municipal review of commercial projects and their impact on the community and provide a thorough review of major impact projects and expedite review for minor projects.
At Town Meeting June 11, voters will continue addressing the 2026 warrant. It includes a $3,177,489 municipal budget, which represents an increase of 2.7 percent over the current $3,093,043 budget.
