The Knox County Democratic Committee convened Sunday, July 19, at 11 a.m. in the Rockland Recreation Center in Rockland to elect delegates to the July 25 Democratic Nominating Convention in Bangor. Likewise, its fellow Waldo County Democratic Committee met July 19, but solely via remote participation.

There were 1,047 participants with the Knox County Democrats casting 858 ballots. Waldo County Democrats recorded 890 participants and 769 ballots cast.

In Bangor on July 25, 601 delegates will vote for the new nominee who will appear on the Nov. 3 ballot as the Democratic candidate to compete with Republication Senate incumbent Susan Collins.
