Java Junction program for workforce development begins at Coastal Recovery Community Center
Coastal Recovery Community Center (CRCC) announces a new workforce development program to assist its participants in gaining and retaining employment. Java Junction marries a relaxed cup of ‘java’ with the tools to find employment. From 8-10 each Monday morning at 11 White Street, Rockland, participants will gain assistance with job-readiness.
All participants are welcome, those seeking employment, and those already employed and wishing to apply for another, or better, job.
Though Java Junction is announcing Monday hours, workforce development recovery center personnel are available four days weekly -
Monday/Tuesday and Thursday/Friday, from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. - to assist all facets of job hunting.
Job-readiness skills to be addressed include career interests; job searching; resume writing; and, interviewing tips.
"CRCC knows a solid way to support recovery efforts is through employment, and understands substance use disorder (SUDs) is a chronic condition from which recovery is possible," said CRCC. "Most don’t know that according to a 2020 National Survey (1), two-thirds of adults with SUDs have jobs and more and more employers are engaging in workplace recovery efforts.
"CRCC strives daily to support all participants and through Java Junction, wishes to engage with the one-third needing help with job-readiness," said CRCC. "Coffee (or tea) will be hot and available and so will help with work-readiness prep."
