The inaugural Partners in Care Community Golf Classic, held Sept. 15, 2026, at Samoset Resort in Rockport, raised more than $33,000 to support the Bridge to Care Fund, according to MaineHealth Pen Bay and Waldo Hospitals, in a news release.
The inaugural event brought together 20 teams from across Maine, including local businesses, community members and health care partners, in support of an important cause, according to MaineHealth.
The Bridge to Care Fund is designed to assist individuals and families facing challenges related to social determinants of health. This assistance is intended to help reduce barriers that may impact an individual’s ability to access and follow through with care, according to MaineHealth. Support is provided in accordance with established eligibility guidelines and is not tied to the use of any specific provider or service.
The 2026 tournament was made possible through the generosity of sponsors, including gold sponsors Camden Hills Partners, LLC, JF Scott Construction, and the Bob Gatof Family.
“The success of the inaugural Partners in Care Community Golf Classic is a testament to the generosity and commitment of our community,” said Tyson Thornton, PharmD, FACHE, senior director of operations for MaineHealth Pen Bay and Waldo Hospitals. “We are grateful to golfers, sponsors, community partners, volunteers, committee members and the team at the Samoset for making this event possible and look forward to continuing it for years to come.”
