Inaugural 'Partners in Care Community Golf Classic' to be held in Rockport
MaineHealth Pen Bay and Waldo Hospitals will hold their inaugural Partners in Care Community Golf Classic, on Tuesday, Sept. 15, 2026, at the Samoset Resort in Rockport.
This event will bring together community members, local businesses and health care professionals for a day of friendly competition, networking and community support, according to MaineHealth, in a news release. Registration begins at 8 a.m., followed by a 9 a.m. shotgun start.
Proceeds from this year’s event will benefit the Bridge to Care Fund, a charitable program designed to help individuals and families overcome challenges related to social determinants of health. This assistance is intended to help reduce barriers that may impact an individual’s ability to access, and follow through with, care. Support is provided in accordance with established eligibility guidelines and is not tied to the use of any specific provider or service, according to MaineHealth.
Participants will enjoy a full day of golf and festivities, including:
- 18 holes of golf with cart
- Light breakfast, lunch, and a post-tournament reception
- On-course contests and prizes
- Opportunities to connect with community leaders and health care partners
Teams of four golfers are invited to register at a cost of $1,000 per team.
“We are excited to launch this new community event and bring people together in support of an important cause,” said Tyson Thornton, PharmD, FACHE, senior director of operations for MaineHealth Pen Bay and Waldo Hospitals. “The Bridge to Care Fund plays a vital role in helping ensure individuals can access the care they need, and this tournament is a meaningful way for our community to make a difference.”
Those interested in participating are encouraged to register by Friday, July 31, 2026.
