Helping Hands to hold fundraiser with Heather Cox Richardson and Rick Wahle at Lincoln Theater
Helping Hands of Round Pond will host a fundraiser at 7 p.m., Monday, July 28, "Lobster Country: Heather Cox Richardson with Rick Wahle."
The conversation between two local experts will address the changing lobster fishery in the Gulf of Maine and the current state and federal policies impacting the industry.
Rick Wahle is a lobster scientist, the former director of the Lobster Institute, and retired professor in the School of Marine Sciences at the University of Maine’s Darling Center.
Heather Cox Richardson, professor of American History at Boston College, is the author of the New York Times bestseller Democracy Awakening, as well as creator of a nightly newsletter, Letters from an American.
The event will take place at the Lincoln Theater in Damariscotta. Tickets for the fundraiser are $100. The evening program is a benefit, and all funds will go towards the ongoing restoration of the historic 1852 Greek Revival Round Pond Meetinghouse, the future home of Helping Hands. Helping Hands of Round Pond is a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, and all donations are tax deductible.
The evening will also include a display of framed photographs by Maine photographer Peter Ralston. Photographs will be available for auction bidding starting July 28.
