Girl Scouts of Maine selects Kathleen Perkins as February Volunteer of the Month
SEARSPORT — A Waldo County volunteer from Searsport, Kathleen Perkins, has been announced as the Girl Scouts of Maine (GSME) Volunteer of the Month of February.
"Perkins is currently a volunteer within the Mountain2Sea Service Unit where her unwavering commitment exemplifies the core values of Girl Scouts, making a significant impact on girls across the state," said GSME, in a news release.
The volunteer of the month is a prestigious titled recognized by GSME. It is awarded monthly to an adult volunteer who has demonstrated exceptional dedication and efforts within the organization to benefit Girl Scouts statewide.
"Whether Katie is supporting fellow volunteers, mentoring the girls in her troop, or stepping in wherever help is needed most, she leads with courage, confidence, humor, and character," said GSME. "A standout contribution this year was her role serving as a leading committee member behind Mountain2Sea’s First Responders Day. Thanks to her coordination and vision, the event was an incredible success. Girl Scouts had the opportunity to learn firsthand about leadership, service, and real-world problem solving, while engaging with the people who keep our communities safe.
"Katie is a shining example of what it means to be a Girl Scout volunteer in Maine, and we are so grateful for all she does for our Girl Scouts of Maine community," said GSME.
