ROCKLAND — Rockland Public Library will begin serving free lunches to any child 18 and under on Monday, June 27. The program will run through August 26.

Due to changes in USDA (Federal) rules, meals must be eaten on site, according to Rockland Public Library, in a news release. For the Library, this means in the building, in the Children’s garden, or on the Library lawn.

There can be no grab-and-go for parents/guardians; the meals must be given to a child.

The Library will serve lunch only, from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., Monday through Friday.

This program is funded by the USDA and sponsored by Healthy Lincoln County; the nutritious meals are made daily and locally.

For any questions, please call librarian Jessie Blanchard at 207-594-0310, or visit healthylincolncounty.org for more info, including a full schedule of sites serving Knox and Lincoln County. Any child from anywhere is welcome to enjoy a free meal at any of the listed sites.
