Dorothy C. Bunker, obituary
HUBBARDSTON, Massachusetts — Dorothy C. Bunker, 97, passed away peacefully at her home in Hubbardston, Massachusetts, on March 26, 2026. Though born in Boston on January 20, 1929, Dorothy always considered Matinicus Island, Maine, to be her true home.
The daughter of the late Charles W. and Catherine F. (McIntyre) Ballem, Dorothy was the beloved wife of the late Albert M. Bunker, with whom she shared a lifetime of memories and love. Dorothy was known for her artistic spirit and her love of conversation. A gifted cook, she was also a talented knitter, seamstress, and painter. Her creativity knew no bounds; she delighted in making handmade toys for her children and crafting unique gifts, such as nylon flower bouquets and Christmas ornaments fashioned from painted starfish and seashells.
She is survived by her daughters Linda M. Bunker of Hubbardston, and Catherine L. White of Edwards, Missouri; five grandchildren: Heidi Jo Pulkkinen of Hubbardston, Massachusetts, Barry D. White, Jr. of Edwards, Missiouri, Albert T. White of Mobile, Alabama, Lorena A. White of Round Rock, Texas, and Travis White of Eldon, Missouri; and 10 great-grandchildren, as well as many nieces and nephews.
