Event Date
Saturday, June 13, 2026 - 07:00 pmOn Saturday, June 13, celebrate the Rockport tradition of donuts and the Flying Shoes tradition of dance, at the Rockport Donut Festival’s final event: a free “Do-Si-Donuts” Community Contra Dance at Marine Park.
Starting at 7 p.m., Montville caller Chris Ricciotti will lead folk dancing for all ages and experience levels, with especially easy ones early on.
"Chris has a rich background in contras, square dances, and other traditions, and participants can expect a program full of verve and variety," said Belfast Flying Shoes, in a news release. "A quartet of musicians from the renowned Gawler Family Band – Elsie Gawler, Molly Gawler, Bennett Konesni, and Ethan Tischler – will bring their upbeat, joyful fiddle tunes to dancers and listeners alike, and Ethan Tischler will also provide sound reinforcement."
Bring an instrument and your chair to join the "Back Row Bandits" and play along with the band for the first hour.
Presented by Belfast Flying Shoes, the Rockport Opera House, and the Town of Rockport, this month's BFS dance in Rockport is free admission. Dance outdoors in Marine Park at Rockport Harbor. (Rain location at the Opera House)
"Come early in the day to celebrate the modern donut and Rockport's unique donut history," said Flying Shoes.
The Donut Fest is a full weekend event with music, food, and fun for all ages. Details at rockportdonutfestival.com.
