Pascal Hall, located at 86 Pascal Ave, Rockport, will be transformed into a sanctuary haven, according to Darrowby.
"Upon entering, plan to hear happy recording sounds from many of the 60 current Darrowby farm animal residents," said Darrowby. "Large photographic images accompanied with compelling life stories of select residents will offer a visual introduction to this farm animal residing on 100 acres in Jefferson, ME."
The event program will feature remarks by Sanctuary founders and former Camden Hills Regional High School educators Amanda Glenn and Andy Theriault. Darrowby partners and volunteers will speak to the Promise of Sanctuary and its impact across Midcoast Maine. Local filmmaker Josh Gerritsen will chat about the mission video he produced about Darrowby Farm Sanctuary and what this experience meant to him and his work.
About Darrowby Farm Sanctuary: Through Rescue, Education, and Rehabilitation, Darrowby Farm Sanctuary, a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization, rescues and provides a safe and lifelong home for neglected, abused, or abandoned farm animals, and educates people about living a mutually beneficial life with those animals that does not use them for food or forced labor. By providing a sanctuary for animals, educational opportunities for all ages, and support for those looking to make ethical choices, Darrowby’s mission is to reduce suffering and create a more compassionate world.
Vision: All who participate in and support Darrowby envision a world in which all living beings are treated with respect and care, and in which humans interact with animals in ways that work to alleviate suffering. We see farmed animals as deserving of long lives alongside humans in symbiotic relationships that honor the connection between people, animals, and the land.
