'From Cushing to the World' with former teacher Beth Heidemann, Sept. 10
Former Cushing Community School teacher Beth Heidemann will present “From Cushing to the World” on September 10, at 7 p.m., at the Cushing Historical Society.
Known for her innovative approach to education, Heidemann is a recipient of the prestigious Presidential Award for Excellence in Math and Science Teaching. This national honor included a trip to Washington, D.C. where she had the opportunity to shake President Obama's hand. For 25 years, she brought her passion for the arts, technology, outdoor learning, and environmental education to students in Cushing. Now, she and her partner, Curtis, are sharing that teaching excellence with the world.
Through their project, Go2Science, they create real-world science research adventures including field videos and lessons for students and teachers across the globe. Join Heidemann as she shares the incredible projects they’ve undertaken, the places they've traveled, and what’s next for them.
