Creative nature youth programs offered this year at Langlais Art Preserve
Georges River Land Trust is offering free art- and nature-integrated youth programs throughout the fall and winter at Langlais Art Preserve in Cushing.
Wonder Walks, for children ages 0-6 and their caretaker, are gently guided, child-centered meanders with new discoveries each week, as the landscape evolves over the season. During these programs, children will look closely, ask questions, and use all five senses. Wonder Walks are offered every Friday morning, from 9:15 - 10:15 a.m., through December 5.
Creative Nature Club, for children ages 6-10, explores new ecological themes every month and prompts children to make art inspired by their discoveries. Held monthly on Saturday mornings from September through May, these programs are led by naturalist and land trust program staff in addition to guest artists. Topics include fall foliage, hibernating animals, frozen forests, spring wildflowers, and more. How can creative responses to our local ecology help us feel connected to the more-than-human world? Find out at Creative Nature Club.
